Computer vision is a field that includes methods for acquiring, processing, analyzing, and understanding images and, in general, high-dimensional data from the real world in order to produce numerical or symbolic information.
Computer vision is a field that includes methods for acquiring, processing, analyzing, and understanding images and, in general, high-dimensional data from the real world in order to produce numerical or symbolic information. The image data can take many forms, such as video sequences, views from multiple cameras, or multi-dimensional data from a medical scanner. Sub-domains of computer vision include scene reconstruction, event detection, video tracking, object recognition, learning, indexing, motion estimation, and image restoration. The field of computer vision is rapidly progressing and their applications have been increasing blisteringly. One of the most prominent application fields is medical computer vision or medical image processing. This area is distinguished by the extraction of information from image data for the purpose of making a medical diagnosis of a patient. Generally, image data is in the form of microscopy images, X-ray images, angiography images, ultrasonic images, and tomography images. An example of information which can be extracted from such image data is detection of tumors, arteriosclerosis or other malign changes. It can also be measurements of organ dimensions, blood flow, etc. This application area also supports medical research by providing new information, e.g., about the structure of the brain, or about the quality of medical treatments. Applications of computer vision in the medical area also includes enhancement of images that are interpreted by humans, for example ultrasonic images or X-ray images, to reduce the influence of noise.
OMICS Group International is an amalgamation of Open Access publications and worldwide international science conferences and events. Established in the year 2007 with the sole aim of making the information on Sciences and technology ‘Open Access’, OMICS Group publishes 400 online Open access journals which contains over 30000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board members in all aspects of Science, Engineering, Management and Technology journals. OMICS Group has been instrumental in taking the knowledge on Science & technology to the doorsteps of ordinary men and women. Research Scholars, Students, Libraries, Educational Institutions, Research centers and the industry are main stakeholders that benefitted greatly from this knowledge dissemination. OMICS Group also organizes 300 International Conferences annually across the globe with support from 1000+ scientific societies and number of collaborations , where knowledge transfer takes place through debates, round table discussions, poster presentations, workshops, symposia and exhibitions.

Major computer vision and related Symposiums and Workshops
National symposiums and Workshops provide a dedicated forum for the advancement, application and exchange of information about computer vision and its allied areas. Around 30 National symposiums and Workshops are going to be held across the globe which includes “4th IEEE Workshop on Consumer Depth Cameras for Computer Vision”, “The 19th Computer Vision Winter Workshop” and “MICCAI Workshop on Medical Computer Vision”, “10th IEEE Embedded Vision Workshop (Held in conjunction with IEEE CVPR 2014)” and many more.
Major computer vision and related Societies & Associations
Some of the associations related to computer vision are The British Machine Vision Association and Society for Pattern Recognition (BMWA). The BMVA provides a national forum for individuals and organization’s involved in machine vision, image processing, and pattern recognition in the United Kingdom. Automated Imaging Association (AIA) is the world's largest machine vision trade group. AIA has more than 330 members from 32 countries, including system integrators, camera, lighting and other vision components manufacturers, vision software providers, OEMs and distributors. The association's headquarters is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
